Inspired by His Grace

Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

A broken heart, mended and loving again.
A wounded soul helping another soul find healing.
A spirit crushed, close to death, revealing what it means to truly live.
These are the individuals that God uses to inspire countless others, including me!

He has placed numerous people in my life, calling them to be transparent about their own hurts, their mistakes and His amazing grace, helping me to see that I’m not alone, helping me to realize that I haven’t done too much, or gone too far. I’m never out of His reach, never too far from His grace.
God wants to use our lives, the good, the bad and the really ugly, to inspire others!

He will take what was meant for evil and use it to bring good in the lives of those around us, through the blood of Jesus and the words of our testimony.

God wants to use the darkness of our pasts to lead others out of darkness into His merciful light.

Never underestimate the power of your testimony, because your words could mean life to someone else!

Be inspired by the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and be an inspiration to others by sharing His love with all who don’t know Him, allowing your life to be a sacrifice of praise.

They won the victory over him because of the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.
They didn’t love their life so much that they refused to give it up.
Revelation 12:11

Looking for LOVE in all the wrong places...

"Though our feelings come and go, God's love for us does not."
-C.S. Lewis
There were many times in my life that I felt unloved, unwanted, and without purpose.
It was during those times that I began looking for something that I wouldn’t find, and attempting to fill an emptiness that wouldn’t be filled.
I was desperate to feel the love of someone who would fight for me, someone who would choose me above all others!
But I wouldn’t find what I was looking for in the places or from the people that I was seeking it, I would only find this magnitude of love and acceptance from the ONE who not only would fight for me, but the only ONE who would choose to die for me.
His love is what I so desperately sought, because He was and is the only ONE who can meet my every need and fill an emptiness that no one else can fill.

There are certainly people that God places in our lives to love us, and to meet some of our needs but we put unnecessary pressure on those we love when we expect them to meet needs that only God can meet.

I am well loved by my wonderful husband, children, grandbabies, family and friends and I thank God for each of them but I am desperate for the love of Jesus who loves me like no other could!

And He loves you too!

It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or how far you’ve strayed. You don’t have to do anything to earn His love or get "right" before you come to Him. Come to Him just as you are, give Him your heart, your life, no matter how messy it is and let Him love you the way you so desperately desire to be loved!

It’s His love that you are seeking and will only find through Him!

Trust me friend, I’ve been there…

Choose Jesus, He’s already chosen you!
"God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus. "

Words that encourage even on the hardest days...

I’ve made mistakes, I’ve lost my way.

I’ve struggled, stumbled, even doubted some days.

I’ve made some plans, I’ve had regrets, worried over things that haven’t happened yet.

Still through it all, you’re by my side, there to guide me, to catch me when I fall.

Never alone, that’s what you’ve promised me, so on your word I trust completely.

You’ll never leave me or forsake me, ever present, with me always.

Gently leading, patiently waiting, through the good and the bad days.

Full of mercy and of grace, to say sufficient seems but a trace.

No single word can describe, you’re more than enough, more than Amazing God!

"What are the encouraging words you want to hear when you’re having a hard day?"

When this world weighs heavily and struggles seem to never cease, these are the words that encourage me greatly…

God’s mercy is new for me every morning!

Regardless of what I’ve done, what others have done to me, or the trials I face, His Grace Is Sufficient!

He is more than enough and if He is ALL I have, then I have ALL I need!!!

While I may disappoint those I love and I may be disappointed by others, God’s love for me is unfailing and unending!

The same way that God feels about me, He feels about you!!!
His mercy is new for you every morning, His grace is sufficient and His love everlasting!

No matter what you’re going through in this season of your life, trust Him to be more than enough and all that you need!

You have a purpose and God has a plan!

"Destiny waits in the hand of god, shaping the still unshapen..”

We all have unique talents and abilities, God given gifts that He knit in us before we were born. Most often these gifts come so effortlessly that some fail to realize it’s a gift at all.

Writing, drawing, communicating and especially encouraging have always been like breathing for me, something that I just did without thought or effort. As a kindergarten student, I would walk around the classroom, studying my classmates work telling them what a good job they were doing. As an adult I have found that by speaking into someone’s life through transparency about my own life God has used me in the ways that He gifted me, most often without me even realizing it!

There are many things I’m not gifted to do. I’m not an athlete, or a musician or singer. I’m not great in a crisis or gifted with numbers. I’m not extremely organized or punctual (although I’m praying that changes). There are so many things that I’m not but I know what I am…

I am an artist and most often I’m amazed at what I can do, knowing fully that God guides my hand as the brush effortlessly strokes the canvas revealing beauty that only He could (use me to) create.

I’m also a writer. I love to tell a story and paint a picture with my words.

Unfortunately I believed for many years that I wasn’t smart enough, good enough or talented enough and that the lack of a degree disqualified me from using my gifts. So day after day, month after month, year after year I did what I felt I was qualified to do and struggled greatly in positions that went against my natural abilities.

Like swimming upstream against a rushing current, I continued attempting to navigate waters I was never meant to swim. What an incredibly frustrating and unfulfilling way to live and certainly not what God intended for us!

I'm sure that some of you are struggling in the same ways. Doubting who you are or who you might be, wondering if you have any gifts to offer, any dreams to fulfill.

I’m here to tell you that you do! God has a plan for you!

Psalm 139:13
says, You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb.

He knew you, before He formed you. He knew what you would be and who you would become, if you will just listen to His voice and trust in the gifts that He has instilled in you.

Fear of failure and maybe even a fear of success holds you back. The self doubts and the what-ifs settle in and so you stay. You stay in your familiar, safe little cubicle or at home in your "easy" chair, right where the enemy of your soul wants you, far from the plan God has for you.

When we fail to trust in the gifts that God has placed in us, we fail to move into the positions He has planned for us.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

Doubts come easy when comparison enters the picture. There will always be someone else that we see as more capable, more gifted, more talented and so we believe that we have no purpose.

I finally came to realize that I'm not an artist or a writer because I took a class or have a degree but because that's who God created me to be and I'm learning not to compare myself to other artists and writers because God didn't create me to be just like them but made me uniquely me!

And God made you, uniquely you, on purpose with a purpose!

"What we are is God's gift to us. What we become is our gift to God."

– Eleanor Powell
